Guest Service Officer

Yvonne was born in Gweru, in the Midlands Province of Zimbabwe. She did her primary education and part of her high school years in Harare, finishing at a boarding school in Gweru. She travelled far and did her University in Australia before the ‘Heartbeat of Africa’ called her home in 2013 December. In Australia she obtained a diploma in Hospitality and also Diploma in Commerce.  She worked at Jojo’s restaurant in Brisbane for 5 years and that is where she received extensive training in the Hospitality industry. Having worked under the watchful eye of a Queensland icon in Australia who is very involved in charity within the Brisbane community, it was only natural for Yvonne to become passionate about finding a job within an organisation that gives back to the community. One of the main reasons she joined African Bush Camps as a Hostess at Somalisa Camp  in March 2014.

She thrived in the Camps and with her warm and welcoming manner, became an integral part of the team. In 2015 she became Assistant Manager and in 2016 she joined the African Bush Camps Foundation and is also now the Guest Service Officer for African Bush Camps. Yvonne spends a fair amount of time in the camps and meets guests on a regular basis, this is why she is the perfect person to spread the story of the Foundation and the work we do to any guests who have questions or interests. Yvonne thoroughly enjoys working with children and she will be working closely with the various programmes we support within the communities around our camps.

Yvonne is a social butterfly, enjoys meeting people and travelling.
