Simbai Maurukira (10) is a student studying at Hwange Main Camp Primary School in Zimbabwe. She is one of the students enrolled in the African Bush Camps Foundation Scholarship Programme. Painted Dog Conservation is also a purpose-driven organisation working with communities in the area, and often work with the Hwange Main Camp Primary to encourage dialogue and interest around conservation issues. They work with the Conservation Clubs we support in the schools to create and recite poetry around issues, challenges and inspirations. Here, Simbai has a message, written by her teacher Mr. Magagula, that she’d like to share with her country and the world.

Our scholarships programme enables ambitious children, at risk of dropping out of school (due to financial difficulties) to gain access to education. Find out more and support here.
