A Story of Hope
I joined the conservation sector in 2022 when I was selected as one of six women recruited and trained in Chunga. After completing my training, I worked with Conservation Lower Zambezi for over two years, and now I am proud to have been promoted from a Scout to Wildlife Police Officer.

My passion for conservation began in childhood, growing up alongside wildlife. I saw both the beauty of nature and the challenges communities face, which inspired me to protect wildlife while also supporting and educating people.
One of my proudest moments has been helping shift perceptions. After speaking with community members who saw wildlife as a threat, they began to understand its value and the opportunities it brings.
Through the support of African Bush Camps Foundation and initiatives like the Kufadza Female Scouts, more women are being empowered to enter conservation and lead.
Today, I continue this work under DNPW in Kafue National Park. For me, this is more than a career, it is a purpose. Through conservation, we are protecting both wildlife and the future of our communities.
Kufadza Female Scouts
African Bush Camps Foundation, in partnership with Conservation Lower Zambezi, supports the Kufadza Female Scouts, Zambia’s first all-women ranger team. Their work conserves wildlife, reduces poaching, and strengthens community engagement across the Lower Zambezi National Park.
