Kachikau Disability Paving Unit

Improving accessibility to classrooms for differently abled children at this educational centre in Botswana
Botswana - Chobe

Kachikau Primary School has a unit dedicated to pupils living with disability. One of the challenges these pupils faced was access to classrooms and other facilities in the school grounds, due to gravel and sandy floors. Through our partnership with the school, a plan was made to address this need and share costs in constructing paved pathways for easy wheelchair access. The pavement was completed in 2018, to great delight, and the paved area is also now used as an assembly point for the students every morning.
