Our partner communities’ development is important to us, and through creating opportunities to empower them we aim to improve their quality of life. By doing so sustainably, through helping people to identify needs, resources and utilise existing skills, these communities can become independent.

Our new solar power system for the Mola base in Zi

Our new solar power system for the Mola base in Zimbabwe has arrived and it will be installed within the next few days!

These devices include 2 solar panels, 2 solar batteries, 1 inverter and cables which are to be used for setting up a communications system at the office.

Once they have been connected, the qualified Lion Guardians will have access to an improved communications method which will allow them to charge their tracking devices such as radios, GPS’s and laptops.

This new equipment will assist the team in their plans of tracking lions in the area once they have been collared. They will do this in partnership with Nyaminyami Rural District Council, ZimParks, Bumi Hills Anti-Poaching Unit (BHAPU) and the Foundation.

By using the gear to monitor predators and other wildlife, we aim to empower communities through improving their livelihoods by increasing their food security and reducing human-wildlife conflict.

We work to generate positive economic, environmental, and social impact through utilising responsible tourism.

Since Zimbabwe’s borders reopened, we have been thrilled to see the increase in interest over at @africanbushcamps lodges, with guests back in camp requesting to find out more about our projects!

$10 is donated to the Foundation for every night that a guest stays in one of the camps and we are also so grateful to all of you that share and discuss our development projects. By spreading the word and informing those around you about the opportunities we are creating, we could reach companies and more individuals who could help us further!

In Hwange National Park, Early Childhood Developme

In Hwange National Park, Early Childhood Development classes’ dreams are swiftly becoming their reality!

We had a vision of helping young learners through making their learning environment safer, cleaner, and more engaging.

With this being said, we are thrilled to share that the toilets in the new ablutions at Main Camp Primary School are being installed and the finishing touches will be done in the next week or so.

We cannot wait for the children to return to new and improved facilities!
