Livestock is a highly valued part of people’s livelihood. Mobile Cattle Bomas have assisted in mitigating human/wildlife conflict by protecting livestock from predators. The concept involves communal herding, which results in a variety of benefits. To further incentivise the programme, and to gradually improve the general health and gene pool of livestock in the area, a veterinary component has been added to this initiative, offering vaccinations and healthcare for participating cattle.
Efforts like these resonate with community members and serve as an acknowledgement of the value of their livelihoods.
